Welcome to my Home Workout Revolution review, a new exercise and workout program designed for those who want to ditch the corporate gyms and start exercising and burning fat from the comfort of their own home.
If you are looking for an in-depth review of HWR and the author behind it then read on. If you are looking to download HWR, Craig is currently running a special offer which you can get here.
What Is The Home Workout Revolution?
The TT Home Workout Revolution is a fitness program designed by Craig Ballantyne to help people burn fat, lose weight and as consequence become healthier by just using their own bodyweight.
Being a certified trainer, I like to keep up to date with everything that’s happening in the fitness world, to provide you, my readers the best and most up to date information. Over the past 12 months, I have been seeing a trend, that I knew would explode in 2013 – bodyweight workouts.
Corporate gym owners are getting greedy these days, so finding a gym that offers a monthly fee for less than $40 is almost impossible. Even if you have got the money to pay a gym, getting the help once you’re a member proves even more difficult. You’re put through a template sales process and then, up-sold to a trainer who still lives in the ‘old-school’ method of training – 60 minute cardio sessions.
Not only does the Home Workout Revolution NOT recommend 60 minute workouts, but it also strongly advises against long boring cardio sessions – something I have preached about to my subscribers.
Why? Well firstly, shorter more intense HIIT and resistance workouts achieve better results, and secondly long cardio sessions can cause injury.
TT Home Workout Revolution Review – Who Is Craig Ballantyne?
Craig Ballantyne is a Certified Turbulence Trainer (CTT), creator of the Turbulence Training fat loss program, writer for various magazines including Men’s Health & Women’s Health, and now, creator of the Home Workout Revolution system.
Craig has over 16 years experience in the fitness field and continues to this day to spend long hours in the lab researching – something which separates Craig from almost every other fitness professional out there.
So not only has Craig got the knowledge, he also has the experience and research to back it up.
What Does The Home Workout Revolution Consist of?
Okay there’s no point talking about something, if I don’t tell you what’s actually inside the program. So here’s what you get with Craig’s new home workout program;
51 No-Equipment Workouts
Craig has teamed up with Mike Whitfield (Author of TT Workout Finishers) and Brian Kalakay (Author of TT Boot Camp Games and TT Partner Games) both Certified Turbulence Trainers to bring you the best fat loss system I’ve on the market so far.
Why do I say that? Well, normally when you buy into a new fitness or fat loss program, you’re given a stupidly long PDF (Ebook) that waffles on and talks about a lot of ‘stuff’ before actually getting down to the real ‘gravy’. When they finally do talk some sense, it’s normally about some ‘old-school’ method of training, and that what sets this fat loss program away from the rest.
You can’t beat up to date research that is proven to burn more fat than traditional long boring cardio.
You are personally walked through each exercise by one of the Turbulence Training team. So, there’s no room for error and more importantly – no room for excuses.
HWR Workout Manual:
This part of the Home Workout Revolution program includes beginner workouts, Tabata style workouts, challenge workouts and ladder workouts. All exercises come with detailed pictures and descriptions.
The workouts in this section of the program are designed with everyone in mind.
If you’re having trouble remembering all the exercises then you can always revert back to the Home Workout Revolution Exercise Manual. If however, you’re like me you like to create your own workouts, and that’s what this part of the program is for. Choose a method of training (one that Craig gives you or one you have used in the past) and plug the exercises right in.
12 Week Training Program
However, if you more of a ‘do-it-by-book’ person, then this section of the program is for you. You are given a day-by-day workout schedule to follow for 12 weeks. This is a completely different guide that uses all the exercises outlined in the exercise manual. There are 46 pages in the 12 Week Training Program.
Strength & Muscle Gain Videos
If you’re looking to burn fat and at the same time build muscle mass, then the three videos in this section of the course are for you. Easy to follow workout videos, eliminating the possibility of developing the ‘I don’t know what to do’ attitude.
As with all exercise and workout routines, you must be fueling your body with food.
But, of course you can’t be eating just any old food, you need to be eating the right foods – although, with the type of training that the Home Workout Revolution program asks you to do, you can now be a little bit more relaxed about who, what, where, when and how you eat.
Workout Videos To Follow Along At Home
This is one of my favorite parts of the program. There are 80 videos in total which include;
1) Beginner Bodyweight (10 Videos) – These video’s are for those who are new to exercise, or those who haven’t exercised in a while. While these workouts are designed for beginners, they still work you hard enough to trigger effective fat loss.
2) 20/10 (Tabata Style) Workout (15 Videos) – Using the Tabata Style way of training Craig gives you 15 workout videos here. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the 20/10 method – It’s a type of density training that not only burns fat but can also improve your cardiovascular fitness as well. These workout videos can be used as stand alone workouts for busy days OR they can also be coupled with an existing workout you may have.
3) Challenge Workouts (5 Videos) – These workouts are based around an idea developed by Shawna Kaminski. There are 5 workout videos in total for this section.
4) Ladder Workouts (7 Videos) – As you may already know I love ladder workouts. Extremely effective for fat loss.
5) Bodyweight Circuit & Superset (15 Videos) – For those of you wondering what circuits are; A circuit is when 3 or more exercises are performed one after another with minimal rest – and for those of you wondering what superset’s are; A superset is when two exercises working two opposing muscle groups are performed one after another with minimal rest.
6) Bodyweight & Ab Workouts (5 Videos) – These workouts specifically target the abdominal area of the body. Although they are great workout videos, you’ll still see some great results even if you leave these workouts out altogether – however it’s great to have some variety.
7) Strength & Muscle (3 Videos) – Explained above.
The above videos were included when the Home Workout Revolution was first released. However, since then Craig and the team have released a brand new set of workout videos;
1. 4 Minute Metabolic Miracle Workouts (14 Videos)
2. 6 Minute Six-Packer Workouts (6 Videos)
These were a great addition to the original program, I was worried that the new additions may bump the price of the program up a little, but I am pleased to say there has been no increase on the price of HMW.
Home Workout Revolution Review – The Con’s
As with anything, there are always a few drawbacks……
A drawback I immediately thought about were the existing members to Craig’s original fat loss program – Turbulence Training. There is a fixed price for the Turbulence Training program, but he does have a members program as well, where he asks for a monthly fee. So as far as I know, he is asking for the full price to everyone, whether you’re an existing Turbulence Training customer or not. (If this changes I will update the review)
The second con that I noticed was some people may suffer from information overload. You’re given all these workouts, a nutrition manual, a 12 week program, 3 extra strength and muscle building videos and an exercise manual – just remember to NOT spend too much time watching all the videos and looking through the manuals. Take in small sized chunks of information and go from there.
After-all the reason behind the Home Workout Revolution, was to workout and achieve the same (if not better) results in less time – allowing us to have more time doing the things we love.
Home Workout Revolution Review – The Pro’s
There are tonnes pro’s about the program, but the biggest two that stand out for me are the 51 workouts you are given and the 12 week program.
With the 51 workouts, you can pick the manual up at any time, choose a workout and get it done. There’s no substitute for something like that. You don’t have to go and spend half hour creating an exercise plan, you don’t have to rattle you’re brain at work thinking about what exercises you’re going to do, it’s all there for you.
The 12 week program is perfectly suited for beginners, or someone who hasn’t exercised for a while.
Another great pro to the system is the new videos that were added, not only does this free up more time, but you’re saving a boat load of money in the process. A great addition in my opinion.
All the guess work is taken care of, so all you have to do is follow along.
Finally, I think the price is very reasonable at the moment. I don’t normally talk about prices of programs because as far as I’m concerned you should ALWAYS be getting value for money – this is NOT negotiable. Why would you hand over your hard earned cash for something below par? You wouldn’t and you shouldn’t.
Does Craig’s New Fat Loss Program Work?
Is plain and simple terms – Yes, IF you follow the program properly and use the nutrition PDF as well.
Combine the two together and you’ll see fantastic results.
TT Home Workout Revolution Review – Conclusion
Being a fitness professional myself I like to check out exactly what’s on the market. There is so much rubbish out there it’s unreal, from ‘magic-pill’ this, to hypnosis that, the health industry is absolutely littered with fad diets and dangerous exercise programs.
As a trainer, I’m always getting asked questions about how to lose fat. The biggest problem people face is they don’t know exactly what to do, and they think that they have to commit to 60 minute cardio sessions.
My immediate answer is, and always has been – stay away from long boring 60 minute cardio sessions. My reason for this (long before research had proved that 20 minute resistance workouts worked better) was fun.
For those of you that know me, I started my trade as a kids coach, and I still to this day work with kids, and the main factor I always worked off then was fun, so the main factor I work off now – is fun.
The Home Workout Revolution workouts are not only extremely effective, but fun at the same time
Of course you need to be achieving results, after-all that’s why we all take part in activity and exercise. But if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing you’re not going to stick out for any length of time.
Burning fat, losing weight and ultimately staying fit and healthy is a life long commitment – but it doesn’t need to take over your life – and that’s what’s so special about the Home Workout Revolution. It allows you to achieve the best results in the shortest amount of time possible – giving you more time to spend with the ones you love.
The fitness world is going through some serious ‘earthquakes’ as we speak. A lot of trainers are simply teaching methods that either don’t work or are down right dangerous.
Gone are the days of 60 minutes boring cardio sessions, gone are the days of 5, 6 or even 7 days workout programs. Gone are the days of dangerous activity and lifting.
Whether you’re a beginner or at a more advanced stage in exercising, I believe the Home Workout Revolution is a worth-while investment.
