NOTE TO ALL READERS:
Dan will be releasing his new and improved Suspension Revolution 2.0 – So if you’re looking for more exercises and more workouts that target muscles that you wouldn’t normally get to target with traditional weight training then Suspension Revolution 2.0 might just be what you’re looking for. I have just written a great in-depth review for you guy which you can find here.
If however you’re like me and you’re a bit impatient then go ahead and check out what Dan’s new SR 2.0 has to offer
You can check out Suspension Revolution 2.0 here
Every now and then an info-product comes along that doesn’t talk about what ‘the last guy’ just said. You know those products that basically give you the same sort of workouts every time; dumbbell, kettlebell, stability ball, medicine ball workouts.
Now don’t get me wrong, all of the above (and more) work in helping you, or your client’s burn fat and getting the body you or they want – but what I like is variety.
That’s where suspension training comes in.
What is Suspension Training?
Suspension training is a type of resistance training that involves using ropes, webbing and your own bodyweight. By using the ropes and webbing you can adjust the difficulty of each bodyweight exercise.
Not only can you burn fat using suspension training, but you will also be improving your balance, strength and flexibility.
Suspension Revolution – Who Is Dan Long?
Dan Long is the creator and owner or Kill Mode Training Co. This website is based around the mindset when it comes to working out – the Kill Mode as he likes to call it. What is the Kill Mode? Well as Dan describes himself,
“Kill Mode is a mindset; a mental shift that occurs approximately halfway through a work set, in which fatigue is ignored, adrenaline prevails, and all-out max effort world domination begins!”
Although being quite an active person growing up, playing baseball, football and taking part in cross-country running, Dan hasn’t always worked in the health and fitness industry.
In Dan’s early 20’s he actually started working for a major bakery. He quickly moved up the ranks and by the end of his first year he was running the bakery.
After a getting divorced, Dan decided he wanted to change career and that’s when he decided he would become a personal trainer.
After working as a personal trainer for some time, Dan came across a piece of equipment that would change the way he would look at fitness – TRX, also known as suspension training.
Suspension Revolution is a set of PDF’s and videos that explain the different exercises and workouts you can do with suspension ropes.
So what do you get when you buy Suspension Revolution?
4 Week Beginner Workout Program
In this PDF manual, Dan gives you the exercises and workouts to work your way nicely into suspension training. As I will explain in a second, even if you’ve been working out for years, I would highly recommend you start with this PDF.
4 Week Intermediate Workout Program
After completing the introductory phase of Suspension Revolution, your muscle will be ready to go onto the next stage. In this PDF Dan gives you some new exercises and workout method to do – avoiding the chance of hitting a plateau.
12 Week Advanced Workout Program
After doing 8 weeks of medium intensity workouts, your body will be ready for the next stage. This is where you will start to see the results you are looking for.
I’ve spoken to you before about workout finishers, and how they can be added to the end of a workout to maximize the amount of fat you’re burning.
Well not only will you get a week-by-week workout program but you are also give a set of workout finishers to add on to the end of each workout.
This PDF was written by Workout Finishers author Mike Whitfield.
This video gives you 10 extra exercises. These exercises can be plugged into the workout manuals, the Strap Finishers PDF OR can be used as part of your own workout program.
Suspension Revolution Review – The Pro’s
First off, training with hanging ropes and webbing is ridiculously fun! Burning fat using boring workouts is one thing – burning fat and defining muscle while you’re having fun is another.
‘There’s no substitution for having an effective, fun workout.’
I also like the idea of including the Strap Finishers PDF. Now of course, if you already own a copy of Mike Whitfield’s Workout Finishers, you could use them. But the fact that Dan has included a PDF that gives you workout finishers using suspension training just shows that you can almost do anything with a set of ropes and webbing.
The other thing I like about the program is the bonus video at the end – A nice clear and concise video that gives you a further 10 exercises to do.
The main thing that strikes me about suspension training is that although Dan does have an introductory beginner’s workout program, suspension training isn’t for the complete newbie.
Side Note: If you’re a beginner or your a trainer looking to train beginners then I would recommend Craig Ballantyne’s Home Workout Revolution – you can find my review here.
If you are looking to burn fat but you are yet to exercise properly I would defiantly NOT recommend Suspension Revolution. On the same note, if you are looking to use this program with a new client, then I would strongly advise not to.
Well because a beginner’s core strength might not be ready for the demands of suspension training.
So that being said…..
Who is Suspension Training for?
Everywhere I read people are saying, suspension training can be for anyone who is looking to exercise. As a fitness coach myself I would never use suspension training on someone who is new to exercise – so the statement ‘Suspension Training can be used by anyone’ isn’t true.
However if you have been working out and exercising for some time, then I would defiantly recommend Dan Long’s program.
Not only will you be increasing the amount of fat you’re burning, but you will also be giving your body ‘something else to thing about’ – as I like to call it. Suspension training is great for those who have reached a point in their workout routines where they know it’s time to change up.
Suspension training can also be used as a means of rehabilitation as it involves just using your own bodyweight.
Does Suspension Training Work?
Well I suppose the big question is; does it work?
Well yes of course it will work. If simple bodyweight training works (like I have explained to my readers before) then suspension training will work – if done properly of course.
Suspension Revolution Review – The Conclusion
So after going through the course, and picking out every little I can say overall I’m happy with what Dan Long has created.
Suspension training will be used more and more across the world as more and more people start to recognise its benefits.
There’s no question of a doubt suspension training does work BUT like I have already mentioned a couple of times before, I wouldn’t use suspension training if you are a complete beginner. Again, If you are a beginner yourself, or you’re planning to train a beginner then I would recommend this before you buy Dan Long’s Suspension Training.
With 20 weeks worth of workouts, you have a program – that if followed properly will have the fat falling off you.
There are a couple of drawbacks about the program, like the fact there could be a few more video tutorials.
