This is a Suspension Revolution 2.0 review, if you are looking for an in-depth review about SR 2.0 and the author behind it then please read on.
After almost 3 or 4 months of what seemed liked a new fitness launch every week, we’ve had a good few silent weeks. I think the last major fitness info product launch was Shawna Kaminski’s Challenge Fat loss.
This week however, sees the re-launch of Dan Long’s Suspension Revolution program– Suspension Revolution 2.0. The original product was a massive hit, not because the program was packed full of solid content (which it was), but also because Suspension Revolution offered people another route in which to take when it comes to working out, and more specifically, burning and losing fat.
I’ve started to see a massive following lean towards suspension workouts and exercises.
Now I’ve seen a trend recently, 2.0 this and 2.0 that – everyone seems to be re-launching their products and adding a 2 and a 0 at the end of it, hence the name – Suspension Revolution 2.0!
It’s all well and good re-launching your product IF it beats the original released version. There’s no point in just sticking a couple of numbers on the end of the name and releasing it again – it needs to have serious ‘meat’ in it, it need to meet previous expectations and more – the second suspension training PDF needs to blow the original product out of the water.
So like I was saying, Suspension Revolution was a top notch product, there’s no denying it, it did thousands sales in its first week and since then there has been people all round the globe raving about it. Dan poured his heart and soul into the thing and it paid off. So when I got wind about him releasing a newer version I stood up and listened.
Suspension Revolution 2.0 sees more exercises, more workouts and this time there’s more of a coaching aspect behind the program – which I’ll go into more detail below. Before that, just like my previous Suspension Revolution review I wrote, I want to give you a little background on Dan.
Who Is Dan Long?
I wrote a brief bio on Dan in last review, so to save a bit of time I’ll sum up Dan here quickly. Dan Long (Kill Mode Training) is the go-to expert when it comes to suspension training. Over the years he has trained many pro athletes and actors in his Powerhouse training facility in Tampa.
Dan, a professional suspension trainer, has trained many individuals in the real world, but more recently he took his expertise online. Back in early 2013 Dan released program designed to burn fat using TRX equipment – calling it Suspension Revolution.
What I like about Dan, is the attention he gives to the mental side of training. There are plenty of trainers that talk about nutrition and exercise – but what sets him apart from the rest of the gang is his Kill Mode definition:
Kill Mode noun- a mental shift that occurs approximately halfway through a work set in which fatigue is ignored, adrenaline prevails, and all-out max effort world domination begins
Now, he’s back with his new program – Suspension Revolution 2.0.
Suspension Revolution 2.0 Review – Suspension Revolution PDF
What’s does it consist of?
For those of you that got the original product you will notice that Dan’s kept the same layout; however when you look into it a little deeper you’ll notice he’s completely changed things up.
On the download page you’ll notice he has sectioned each part of the program out (see picture)
So we’ll start at the beginning with the…..
4 Week Suspension Beginner Revolution
The beginner section comes in two different formats – as a PDF and in a video. The PDF has 50 pages of content (well 49 pages, as the last page only has a few words!). The first 12 pages outline each beginner workout, and the rest of the PDF is packed with pictures detailing exactly how to perform the exercise. Each picture comes with a description as well. After you completed this part of the program, Dan then suggests you move onto the…..
4 Week Suspension Intermediate Revolution
This PDF is laid out exactly like the first one, where the workouts cover the first section of the PDF, followed by detailed pictures showing you how to perform each exercise. These workouts are slightly harder than the previous ones, and by the end of the 4 week intermediate program (providing you are eating properly) you should be seeing some great results.
The exercises and workouts provided in this section are great, and if you’re on the ball – using the workouts Dan has provided you will be able to start creating your own workouts of a similar nature.
However, if you’re looking for even harder workouts, then Dan gives you his…..
12 Week Advanced Suspension Revolution
Again, this section is laid out exactly like the Beginner and Intermediate PDF’s, but the exercises and workouts are harder.
Side Note – All the workouts that are contained within the PDF’s are also presented in a video format as well. So if you’re more of a visual follow-along kind of person (like me!) then the videos will be just what you’re looking for. The videos can be found underneath the PDF download link.
This PDF was provided by Mike Whitfield, and outlines some more great workout finishers using TRX suspension ropes. Each workout can be used at the end of a workout OR it can be used as a standalone workout – you choose.
10 Suspension Exercises That No One Else Does
This video outlines ten of the craziest exercises I ever seen. I would defiantly recommend this for those on the Advanced workout program.
You are given the option of two additional offers, now before I go into why you would choose a certain one, let me just tell you what’s included;
Option 1: The first offer is mainly based around the nutrition side of things. You are offered;
6 Week Xtreme Lean Diet Program
5 Advanced Xtreme Suspension Challenges
Supplement Guide for Fat Loss
53 Fat Burning Smoothies and Milkshakes Guide
Option 2: This one is more based around different methods of working out. You are offered;
8 Week Atomic Bodyweight Workouts
Ten Minute Total Body Suspension Workouts
4 Week Suspension Muscle Building Program
My Take on the Optional Offers
Now I’ll say straight off the bat, after having a look into option 2 some of the workout methods Dan uses are fantastic. They allow you not only add more variety to your workouts but they also allow you to get short effective workouts in if you’re running low on time.
As Suspension Revolution 2.0 is a exercise and workout program for fat loss, and as we know nutrition is vitally important to our fat loss efforts, option 1 is a no brainer.
So my recommendation would be to choose option 1 – but if you’re budget allows it then defiantly have a look at option 2 as well. At the end of the day, you can never have too many workouts.
Suspension Training Equipment
If you’ve been following along you will have noticed that in order to use Suspension Revolution you need to have access to a set of suspension straps. If you’ve already got yourself some then great you’re ready to rock and roll!
However for those of you haven’t yet got your hands on so e suspension training straps, then I would recommend using either a set of Jungle Gym suspension training straps or a TRX suspension trainer.
If you’re operating on a tighter budget, I would check sites like eBay or Craigslist to see if anyone is selling any. I see people selling a tonne suspension training equipment on Gumtree for instance. Have a look around – you don’t have to spend a fortune.
Suspension Revolution 2.0 Review – Con’s
As with anything, there always has to be a few things that are lacking with the product – nothing is perfect and nothing will ever be perfect.
After being right in the middle of all these product launches in the last 6 months, I have been lucky enough to see what each author is doing. I can see what they are offering, what kind of methods they’re using – and most importantly who they are working with.
Now while Dan has teamed up with Mike Whitfield (Workout Finishers, Workout Finisher 2.0) to give you the Strap Finishers PDF, I would have liked to have seen more PDF’s like this. Teaming up with someone like Shawna Kaminski would have been fantastic.
While this would have been a great addition to Suspension Revolution 2.0, I am picky person – and being a personal trainer myself I always try to pick each product apart, it’s in my nature! The fact that program doesn’t have Challenge Workouts, or any other workouts from other trainers around the world doesn’t mean the program is any less effective – In-fact Dan Long’s Suspension Revolution 2.0 works very well.
As I was making my way through the PDF’s and videos, I was trying to keep a count of all the pro’s I could talk about. In the end, I thought I’d whittle it down to 3 things.
- Coaching aspect – This version brings more of coaching side to the program. Instead of just being given workouts to follow, you are actually walked through each workout with easy to follow videos.
- Dan’s Energy – Having these videos allows you to see firsthand exactly what Dan’s energy is like! The energy the guy has got is unreal.
- Workout Methods – Dan actually uses a rep method that I have been using for some time now in my own workouts – with some fantastic results. By using combination methods you can super-charge your fat loss efforts. You can find this more prevalent in the Advanced PDF and the ‘10 exercises No One Else is Doing’ video
Is Suspension Training Effective? Does Suspension Revolution 2.0 work?
Suspension training takes Bodyweight training to another level. Not only can you trigger the afterburn effect but you can also build ALOT of core strength as well.
As I’ve just mentioned above, SR 2.0 does work, and it works extremely well – this is due to a few reasons. The main ones being the fact you’ll be using TRX suspension ropes and Dan’s unique workout methods.
By the end of the Intermediate workouts, you will have seen some great results, however everyone is different, so you could see results in as little as the first few weeks.
Suspension Revolution 2.0 Review – Conclusion
It’s been a pretty long review, but I always pour my heart and soul into the reviews, because I think it important you are given every small detail.
There are too many ‘burn fat fast’ scams on the internet nowadays, and they don’t seem to be going away. Where-ever there’s money to be made there will be a line of people waiting to rip you off – so I think it’s important to provide you will an in-depth review of different programs.
I started this Suspension Revolution 2.0 review off by saying; new versions of products need to completely smash their previous versions out of the water – so I suppose the question is, does it?
Well, after going through every part of the course, looking at the new workouts Dan gives us, walking us through from a beginner stage right up to an advanced stage, providing us with some of the craziest exercises and workouts I have ever seen and presenting the program in a more coaching manor rather than doing a ‘Here ya go – do it yourself’ way, I can honestly say Dan has absolutely smashed the original version of Suspension Revoltion into oblivion.
Not only has the product exceeded my expectations, but it has been released by probably one of the nicest guys I have come across in the fitness industry – A guy who comes with an insane amount of enthusiasm, who isn’t here for his gain, but rather here to help you reach your fitness goals.
